Day 15- The Power of Forgiveness
![]() |
| Good morning! |
As most of you noticed, I skipped yesterday. That was because I decided to continue my daily challenge personally but blog about my experience the day after about how the affirmations helped me.
I am so proud of myself and also glad for all the support I have received. I really appreciate you guys and hope that my blogs have not only helped me but you as well.
Day 15 was all about forgiveness and learning how to let go.
In the past, I was a very judgmental and critical person of others, but even much worse for myself. This made me hold negative thoughts and feelings about myself and others which made me sad, angry and depressed. I was fed up with life but I didn't know why.
To a certain degree, I practiced forgiveness, but I just couldn't let go of the past. Holding on to resentment or guilt was my Achilles heel, and it eats away at you, always nagging in the background...
We are too hard on our selves as human beings. What makes us so perfect is how imperfect we are, a walking contradiction but yet still a marvel...
We are on this earth to live and enjoy life. Getting bogged down on the past is always a precursor to something always much bigger, like a simple argument turning into a feud, a fight turning to a homicide, etc...
We can never change the past as of right now, but we can always be better in the future.
Being a very forgiving person is essential for peace of mind. Letting go of the past mistakes does not mean that precaution shouldn't be taken in the future, but it should be out of love, and not fear...
We need to learn to trust ourselves and others especially after weathering a storm. Once you remove regret and resentment, and learn to move on from the past, you will be able to live life much happier and more positively.
Yes... we do need to learn from our mistakes, but harboring resentment is even more dangerous...
Holding a grudge makes people make very bad decisions further down the line, and begets negativity in terms of jealousy, gossip, and even violence. What is worse is the amount of power you give to the other person, as they occupy your thoughts, change your mood negatively or even cause self destruction.
Forgiveness should always come out of love and nothing else. That is the only way to regain your power back.

| Love is always the key! |
Whatever or whomever it is in your life that gives you sadness, resentment, guilt... It could be yourself as well...
You need to forgive wholeheartedly and then release all the anger, hate and negativity along with it.
To be fully completed, you have to feel a sense of liberation, like a load has been lifted off your chest.
You should feel an inner sense of calm like never before.

| Always be releasing... |
Tip: It would be good to take it a step at a time. Rome was not built in one day. Start small first and then on to bigger issues later.
I highly suggest using this guided meditation as a tool for forgiveness and learning how to let go:
After all of this, you should be able to take on anything and everything!
Have a wonderful day full of joy and happiness!
Peace... Love... Harmony...
