Day 24- Change your Lifestyle

Good day!
I hope you are having a great Sunday already.

Today is Day 24 and it is all about taking making bold moves towards living a healthier lifestyle and maintaining it.

We all have something we want to change about ourselves, but all we need is the first step and you can achieve your goals.

I have really come a long way in terms of keeping up with my new lifestyle, but this is the way I have always wanted to be. I would write new year's resolutions, year in year out of the same things I wanted to change, but with no improvement in sight.

As I have come to the last week of this 30 day challenge, I am pleased to say that I feel healthier and more energetic than I ever have before in my life.

I only advocate for a healthy lifestyle, because as a doctor, I believe that prevention is better than a cure.

Making that first step towards being a better person was hard, but in hind sight very worth it. I believe once you get through the first  weeks with ease, it is smooth sailing from then on.

Some of my recent lifestyle changes include:

Better sleep patterns:

I go to bed around 10-11 pm, and wake up as early as 4-5 am. Not only do I find the need to sleep less with a regular bedtime schedule, I wake up more refreshed now and very eager to start my day.

Daily meditation:

I meditate for at least 30 minutes twice a day. It has made me more calm, more in touch with myself and being more positive.

Eating a vegetarian diet:

I have always loved animals dearly, and also want to cultivate better eating habits, I decided to be a vegetarian. I have kept this up for about a moth now (cheated once with the best tasting steak ever!) and I am so proud of myself. Not only has my skin issues cleared up, I am more energetic, slimmer and radiant.

Taking up a new hobby:

Since I am being more creative, having this blog has added a lot of spice to my life and feeling so much happier. I have also taken up art as well.

Being more active:

I take more walks rather than the bus, do some yoga and light exercise from time to time. I feel like my physical strength and endurance has increased lately.

Reading more books and articles:

I am constantly reading and seeking out more information to continue enlightening myself. I have a long list of books I have always wanted to read, and getting through them one after the other with joy and excitement. Knowledge is power!

These are in a nutshell some positive changes I have seen in my life and I hope to keep up from now on henceforth.
I have always wanted to change these things about myself, and I have finally pushed myself to achieve them.

Tips:
1. You need to encourage yourself. You have to want to change more than anything in the world.

2. Be courageous. Bold moves and achieving big goals go hand in hand.

3. Never listen to the naysayers. There are some people whose only job, is to always try to bring you down, especially when they see you progressing. If you give in to the negativity, you may not succeed in your endeavors.

4. Keep it simple and fun. The more complicated and rigid you are in executing your changes, the less likely you are to stick to it.

5. Keep being positive and surround yourself with positively minded people with the same goals as you.

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Peace... Love... Harmony...
