Day 1- Finding Your Inner Voice

Good morning, world. I am so thankful to be alive today!

April 19th 2017 is Day 1 of my new 30 Day Positive Affirmations Challenge and I am soooo excited!!!

I do believe that by the month ends, everybody would see the best qualities of themselves in me.

To explain this challenge briefly, it is just a month of repeating positive affirmations/statements about yourself to relieve anxiety and be a more confident, grateful, loving and happier person.

“When you see things positively and constructively and look for the good in each situation and each person, you have a tendency to remain naturally cheerful and optimistic. Since the quality of your overall life is determined by how you feel, moment-to-moment, one of your most important goals should be to use positive affirmations and every other psychological technique available to keep yourself thinking and talking about what you want and to keep your mind off of what you don’t want, or what you fear.”

Yesterday, I exposed my most private parts to everyone that I know and it was truly liberating. Seeing all the goodwill messages on my phone from my loved ones who never knew what I was going through, made me realize the need to always speak up when you feel lost.

People reached out to me just to let me know that I was not alone... The support I will need to finish this month comes from not just within me but also from all of you!

Thank you for your support! I am very grateful...

Looking back, I ask myself how am I still alive? All those times I escaped a dangerous situation or did something terrible and got away with it? Or just had a bad feeling about someone or a situation?
It was my spirit keeping me alive!

It was so easy to call for help when I needed it the most but I neglected my spirit and pushed her aside for my own selfish wants.
What was it all for? Was it having lots of money...? Or many friends...? Or beautiful clothes...? Or various romantic interests...? Because I had it all!

She never left my side though... Her angelic voice was drowned by the never ending nagging of my egotistic worries and fears. And just when I thought I had nothing else to turn to, I found myself!

The trinity!

We are made up of three aspects: Mind, Body and Soul. Each is nothing without the other and the need to achieve balance/harmony between the three is paramount. That means a marriage of the 3 into 1.

Society has managed to become a body-worshiping (or hating depending on where you live..) and mind-thinking (or analytic) society, while abandoning the soul or spirit!

Look around you... Where is the love? People are dying everyday, money trumps dignity, our mother earth is being torn from within her belly, and we have been turned into zombies by the powers that be. Yet... we all think we are happy?

Please watch this:

This video made me realize my life was a sham and all pretense.

Spot the difference. On the left was me last year.... I was a 24 year old engaged and just graduated medical doctor who should be ecstatic and ready to unveil herself to the world.
While on the right was me last weekend, a 25 year old single doctor with no obvious direction in life.
What is the difference you say? It is fulfillment!

Let us define the word fulfillment (my new fave word, by the way!) because I love the origins of words and the meanings attached to them.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, Fulfillment is a feeling of pleasure because you are getting what you want from life.

Fulfillment to me means accepting who you are and being true to yourself!

I had been brought up to see life through a narrow glass... That success only comes through hard work and academia. I used my brain and look how far it got me...
I am going to try something new instead and be true to myself and nobody else.

I'm free....

Today, we are going to focus on clearing our thoughts and trying to find our inner voices or spirits or true selves.... Whatever you want to call it.

The best way I have found is by meditating, which has relieved me from anxiety in a way that drugs or talking to someone will never have helped me.

I know..

Nobody knows me better than myself..... so I finally listened to her...

"Believe in yourself. Only you have the power to make your dreams come true. Life is under your control. Just have faith!"

How to Find Your Inner Voice:

First of all you need to clear your mind and I have found the best way to do this is by meditating.

Here is a beginners video (if you prefer reading, go here) on how to meditate to relieve any worries.  It is something you can do anywhere and anytime. Just close your eyes and breathe. Easy!

Then when you hear nothing but silence, one voice will speak very clearly to you. That is your inner voice.

So in a nutshell, today is all about reflecting on your life, clearing your thoughts to find your inner voice and listening to it.

Have a wonderful day as always. And please don't forget to share my page with everybody. Thank you!!!

Peace... Love... Harmony...
